Listen to Dan Karlholm speaking at Fountains Failures Futures: The afterlives of public art – a free public symposium in Lund, held at Skissernas Museum 28-30 September 2023.
For Dan Karlholm, the LTH Fountain is no more – it has lost its fons (source) and relevance as a decorative element of the pre-politicized early 1960s, using tap water and electrical pumps to entertain tech students and tourists. Yet, he suggests, while always unsustainable as such, what remains of it today could provide a basis for a new life in relation to a different world, involving a new relationship to the elements. *Dan was introduced by Maddie Leach.
